Profile
“Roughly 30 years ago, Marilyn’s mother, Anita Williams, began a small vegetable garden in her own backyard. Living in a poor location to sell produce, Anita carried her harvested items to a well traveled road in Decatur. This area, which was then an empty lot with only a slab of concrete, is now the Decatur/Morgan County Farmer’s Market. As she continued to work long hours, 7 days a week, she also established a large clientele that would travel from all over to buy her products. Anita ensued the help of her daughter Marilyn and son-in-law Robert to open a family business. Today, Champion Farms sits on 10+ acres and grows a wide variety of delicious fruits and vegetables! This includes greens, tomatoes, beans, peas, potatoes, corn, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, squash, onions, cucumbers, and so many others. Don’t forget to indulge in all of Marilyn’s homemade jarred products!” – Champion Farms
