Farm History: Founded in 1901 by Thomas M. Scott, Jr. and his wife Viola, Scott’s Orchard began with a variety of crops on 233 acres. The first apple crop was produced in 1927. Roy L. Scott, one of Thomas and Viola’s seven children, became the sole owner of the farm in 1935. Today, the farm is managed by Roy’s sons, Larry and Tommy, who represent the third generation of the Scott family. Along with their wives, they continue to grow apples, peaches, and various other crops on 182 acres of the original farm, which has expanded to include an additional 800 acres.
