About Tate Farms: Tate Farms is a family-owned and operated row crop and pick-your-own pumpkin farm located in the heart of North Alabama. Known as a beloved pumpkin farm, Tate Farms has a rich agricultural heritage that dates back to 1810. The Tate family first settled in Madison County in 1867, beginning as sharecroppers on the current farm location. Over the years, the farm has evolved into a staple of the community, offering a wide range of produce and engaging agritainment experiences.

Farm History: Established in the 1930s, Tate Farms has been a cornerstone of North Alabama’s agricultural landscape for over 75 years. Initially focused on a variety of crops, the farm introduced pumpkins in 1996 and has since expanded to include over 80 acres of pick-your-own pumpkin fields. Today, the farm is managed by the Tate family’s current generation, including Mike, Steve, Jeff, and Stewart, who bring specialized expertise to the operation. Jeff’s wife, Michele, is also a key partner in managing the pumpkin business.

• Fresh Produce: Tate Farms produces a variety of crops including corn, cotton, pumpkins, soybeans, and wheat, grown on over 8,000 acres of family-owned and leased land.
• Pumpkin Patch: With over 80 acres dedicated to pumpkins, the farm offers a memorable pick-your-own experience. Specialty pumpkins, mini and giant varieties, winter squash, gourds, corn shocks, and straw bales are available for purchase.
• Agritainment: Tate Farms features 20+ acres of entertainment space for school children, families, and corporate events. Activities include hayrides, corn trains, corn cribs, pedal karts, and much more.

Tate’s Table: Introduced in 2022, Tate’s Table offers a reservation-only, family-style meal experience reminiscent of the farm’s traditional noon “dinner.” Guests can enjoy a hearty meal with 2 meats, 4+ sides, homemade bread, and desserts, served by the Tate family.

Wholesale: Tate Farms offers wholesale prices for bulk orders of large orange jack-o-lantern pumpkins. Availability is limited each year, and wholesale requests must be submitted through the farm’s wholesale request form.
